This project has brought six water tank collectors in six communities namely Dagani, San Miguel, P-4 San Roque, New Visayas, P-4 San Vicente and P-3 La Union. These communities relied only on the rain water for their drinking and cooking.
These communities are the furthest ones from the parish. The rivers of these areas are not safe because the place is infected by water borne disease called schistosomiasis. The water system project was being built beside the each chapel building where the sufficient flow of rain water can easily fill the containers.
The purchased of water tank and materials started last September 2013. After the delivery, the construction started. The construction lasted only for a month after the delivery. The people in the place are now using the water tanks as their source of water in the family. It is also very timely since the raining season is coming. The chapel officers are the one in-charge of the maintenance and monitoring of the water tanks. More than 300 families benefited the project. They are so thankful for the support they received from the MSC and Mission Office.
In behalf of the Sto. Niño Parish Community and the Basic Ecclesial Communities in Del Monte, Agusan del Sur, we thank you for the kindness and generosity you have shown to us. More power and God bless.
